Hey, y'all let me know when you get that thing fixed. So, disable updates and cycle the ON/OFF switch, and that should make it all better. If that doesn't work, they said I should sign out and then sign back in. Their only suggestion was to disable Wi-Fi AND cellular (so, basically Airplane mode) so it will stop trying to do the automatic updates. DUH! I said I thought that was the goal, how could that be a problem?!?

They acknowledged lots of people are experiencing slow response from the App and said one problem is so many people are accessing the App at one time.

I stopped by the Vector "Help" cubicle in the AOC to inquire what is the new Crew Delay Code for "Trying to get Vector to work"? At least they smiled.

Neat toy for LCAs while they're looking (or distracted from looking) over shoulders of working pilots, but not an effective tool for real pilots doing real work. I've been trying to keep a positive attitude and an open mind, but it is my opinion that it's not ready for prime time.

If I am on a weak cell signal (like in the AOC for instance since I can't use the wifi signal there), it takes another few seconds to update. Additionally, when I finally do get the flight plan loaded and try to read it, it "looks for updates" every 30 seconds which freezes my screen while it does. Again, my personal view only & hope others find it useful.I agree, the pace of this app is too slow. Tried it out for 7 flights over three days, got more frustrated as I used it. Take fxcal (or BidX) hotel displays or trip setup views, no scrolling required, all info neatly presented efficiently and quick.ĭone using it for now. Would have been better to just give raw data (with everything in one place, timesaver) in the vector app vs trying to make neat displays (in a new format). (Just talking about loading data, one must review the release and info on either system obviously)

I can use vips website via safari (release, jumpers, 5 day history), gatesheet on company browser (gates for dept and arrival, mels), JeppFD-Pro pro to load flight, and fxcal all within time that vector loads. Not real sure this helps me personally though. I love technology, saw the beta version of vector, and was excited to see product.

Compare to fxcal where I can logon but ask for a refresh (why can’t there be a manual “sync” option?) every time program opens, it automatically starts to load (just basics). the program loads to next flight, so have to scroll up to current flight. release different format than printed (geez, why not just download the actual release & view as original?)
Jeppfd ipad cycle update#
jokingly slow to update (the data takes maybe 10 seconds, but reformatting and placing into vector format is frustrating). due to above, tons of empty space on screen not used, causing one to scroll up & down fonts are so big (and I wear readers), very little info on each scroll in the nearly three minutes of just waiting, I can log onto FXCal, look at open time (MD-11), and go to vips home page and review release. Almost 2 minutes watching (another) spinning icon.every time you tap a flight. Average time to get details of flight - about 110 seconds (every time you tap a flight number). Used it for three days straight since it loaded.Īverage time to initially “load” - about 30 seconds.
